Detroit isn't the only city seeing economic development improve. The city of Pontiac scored some very big wins in 2017, including new headquarters for aircraft engine maker Williams International (moving from Wixom) and mortgage wholesaler United Shore Financial Services.
United Shore has 2,100 employees currently and expects to have 2,350 by the time it moves to the 600,000-square-foot Hewlett Packard Enterprise building at 585 South Blvd. next summer.
It plans to hire 200-400 per year for the foreseeable future, said Mat Ishbia, its president and CEO.
